Lasik Eye Surgery Seattle, Washington
Sound Eye and Laser is a center of excellence with the best technology available
right here in Seattle , Washington ! This technology is used in our approach
to both diagnosing and treating our patients for their LASIK eye surgery needs
.
For Lasik Eye Surgery:
Excimer Laser Corneal Surgery System EC-5000
Nidek's Excimer Laser EC-5000 is designed to reshape the cornea for PRK, PRK
of moderate myopia with astigmatism (consecutive correction of myopia and
astigmatism) PTK and LASIK.
See Risks and Benefits of the Nidek Excimer Laser.
KEY FEATURES
- Dynamic Rotating and Overlapping Delivery System
Designed to perform refractive and therapeutic treatments over a large ablation area,
to minimize glare.
- Easy and Effective Alignment System
3D motorized joystick along with improved illumination and aiming beams provide precise control
of laser beam delivery arm, to maximize good visual outcomes.
- Computerized Performance
Laser delivery parameters are automatically calculated by entering the basic data.
During the ablation procedure, the computer monitors the system parameters
continuously, to ensure precise treatment.
- The System can be integrated to NAVEX
Nidek's new customized ablation systems. (EC-5000CX/CXII)
*NAVEX has not been cleared by the FDA for distribution in the United States.
In Seattle, Washington our state of the art diagnostic equipment provides the most thorough evaluation, including:
OPD-Scan
Refractive Power / Corneal Analyzer
ARK-10000
All in one
- Refractive Power Analyzer
Creates an OPD map of a 6.0 mm diameter maximum inside the pupil, to capture subtle
nuances of the front of the eye.
- Wavefront Analyzer
Calculates higher order aberration, total aberration, and generates Zernike graph, to
evaluate the eye from front to back.
- Corneal Topography
Both corneal topography and refractive error data are measured together in a single
step to minimize alignment errors to measure both the curvature and the prescription
of your eye.
- AutoRefractor & Keratometer
Objective autorefractometry and autokeratometric readings of sphere, cylinder and
axis values are simultaneously determined in order to maintain concise, repetitive
measurements.
By combining these two functions in a single instrument, misalignment problems are
minimized and data reliability is enhanced.
Various Maps available with OPD-Scan:
- OPD Map
- Refractive Map
- Target Refractive Map
Zernike Graph
- High-Order Aberration Map
- Wavefront Total Aberration Map
- Axial Map
- Instantaneous Map
- Elevation Map
- Eye Image
- and more...
Key Features
- Combines refractive power mapping with corneal topography
- Wide range of measurement for both sphere and cylinder
(Sph: -20.0 to + 22.0D; 0.0 to ±12.0D)
- Measures 1,440 points in 0.4 seconds
- Precise mapping of irregular astigmatism
- XYZ fully automatic alignment
- Glare-free topography measurements
- Multiple pre-set map layouts for display and print
- Touch Screen operation
- Windows-based operating software
- Space-saving footprint
- High resolution display (10.4 TFT-Color-LCD)
- Database management capability
WHAT IS AN ASC?
An Ambulatory Surgical Center is a place other than a hospital that performs
outpatient surgery , including but not limited to LASIK eye surgery.
WHY DID SOUND EYE AND LASER DECIDE TO BUILD AN ASC?
The need to address the rising cost of healthcare is something we should all
take seriously. At Sound Eye and Laser we felt one way we could address this
issue is the building of our own ASC here in Seattle , Washington . Studies
have shown that the treatment of patients in an ASC could save Medicare $100
million annually .
QUALITY OF CARE
There is nothing more important than safety and quality of care. Sound Eye and
L aser in Seattle , Washington carefully considered this before making the decision
to build our own ASC. We believe our new ASC will allow patients to get the
best quality of care, under safe, comfortable and cost efficient circumstances.
THE HIGHEST QUALITY SURGICAL FACILITIES
The Sound Eye and Laser ASC will be equipped with one operating room, a laser
suite, a substerile room, a pre-operative and recovery suite and a comfortable
lounge area for patients and family members. In addition to cataract surgery
and LASIK eye surgery , the ASC is used for eyelid surgery, glaucoma surgery,
astigmatic keratotomy and other eye and eyelid surgeries. Along with the ASC,
Sound Eye & Laser also has a laser suite for vision correction. The center
uses the most advanced Nidek laser, the Nidek EC 5000. We also have access to:
lease the Visx Star 4, a leader in design and manufacturing of vision correction
lasers. The laser corrects for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
We are also the first surgeons in Seattle who are certified to treat presbyopia
using radio wave frequency, more commonly known as conductive keratoplasty (CK).
MEDICARE CERTIFIED
The Sound Eye and Laser ASC will be classified as "Medicare Certified," ensuring that
our patients receive the highest quality level of surgical services.
THE MOST GENTLE, COMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE
When Medicare began to limit many eye surgeries to same-day procedures, Doctor
Phillip decided to build to an Ambulatory Surgery Center in Seattle , Washington .
His goal was to provide a comfortable environment, free from the anxiety and stress
of a hospital setting as well as reducing the out-of-pocket expenses of their patients.
.
THE STANDARDS FOR SAFETY
You receive personalized attention from scheduling and admissions through the
pleasant recovery process after your LASIK eye surgery. Our staff always has your best interest and standard of care in mind.
